Green Acres

I love the fact that I can open my front door and see cows across the street (the field is on both sides of the street and sometimes the farmer puts the cows on our side of the street to work in the other field). Wyatt and I sit on the porch and watch them a lot during the day. I can't wait until he is old enough to understand how cool it actually is! We are 5 minutes from any store imaginable, yet get to see the inner workings of farm life every day too! Our neighbors told us, just the other day, that the farmer that owns all of the property surrounding our subdivision applied for and received a declaration from the state of Pennsylvania that keeps his farm a farm FOREVER! It will never be sold to a developer even after he is long gone. How awesome is that? It seems like John and I have always been lucky enough (Lansing, Ohio, and here) to live in a semi-rural area with major amenities and social opportunities right around the corner.
