Jonah and Samuel are enjoying all of the attention that they are getting on vacation as well as some spectacular views. They are never going to want to leave! We enjoyed some great weather again today! Hopefully tomorrow will be just as nice!

The Teepee
We drove straight through and arrived Up North at 4am. It was not as bad as we expected at all, but oddly enough, it was Wyatt that stayed awake almost the entire 10 hours! John and I got to sleep in and Grandma and Grandpa got up with the boys in the morning, so we felt pretty rested today. We enjoyed some warm weather, fishing, swimming, and a lot of fresh air. Wyatt was indoctrinated into the Teepee tradition tonight after dinner, but I don't think that he appreciated the history behind it. His Aunt Allison and I used to LOVE coming up here because we were super excited about going to the TeePee for ice cream in the red truck. We didn't drive the red truck tonight, but Wyatt will get his chance some time this week.

The Farm
Wyatt is loving his little people farm these days. Wish us luck on our trip to Michigan today. We are contemplating driving straight through which would be about 10 hours....we'll see! Hopefully I will still be able to post while on vacation but it depends on the internet connection in upper Michigan.

Heat Wave
It was SUPER hot today, so I packed up all of the boys and we met some of my girlfriends and their kids at the pool. We parked under an umbrella and took shifts taking different kids into the pool. Wyatt had fun with Zachary who is 16 months (and his Mom is pregnant with twin boys), and Jonah and Samuel fell asleep to the sounds of water. It was a nice time...but we had to come home to pack because we are all going to Michigan tomorrow! So let the packing begin!

Black and White
It is all black and white when you are one and a half. Wyatt bumped his belly today on a toy and insisted on holding and ice pack on it! He ran over to the refrigerator and got me to open the freezer door, then he took out the ice pack and held it on his belly while he made some fake sounds like he was in pain! I tried hard not to laugh and kept saying "Does it feel better now?", until he got over the urge for attention and moved on to something else. He is so entertaining these days.

Pool Time
I took Wyatt to the community pool today while one of my girlfriends watched Jonah and Samuel. We had a great time enjoying the pool, sprinklers, and sand play area. I was ready for a nap by the time we got home! Wyatt INSISTED on wearing his hat everywhere at the pool including the sprinkler area. Initially I was not going to let him win the hat battle, but decided that it was actually easier to pick him out in the crowd when he was the only kid wearing a hat!

Who Needs Toys?
I don't know why I even bother to buy toys for any of my children, because they are way more interested in playing with anything but toys in our house. Wyatt could have survived with a $2 piece of cellophane as his only toy for about the first 7 months. Thinking about his "shiny paper" obsession as a baby, I dug through all of my gift wrapping supplies and found some left over sheets of "shiny paper" to test out on Jonah and Sam this morning. Of course, a HUGE hit! I have decided that I will buy several sheets of shiny colored cellophane as my new shower gift for anyone that is pregnant.....along with a working cell phone, a television remote control, and a new washer and dryer. That should provide the baby with entertainment for about the first 20 months or so!

Berry Sweet
Today I took all three boys strawberry picking with our Moms Club. I brought two strollers and had all of the essentials packed perfectly until they told me that we had to take a hayride up to the field for picking and they couldn’t accommodate any strollers! I convinced them to let me take at least one stroller for Jonah and Samuel since I wasn’t an octopus and needed at least one free hand for picking. When we loaded up onto the hay wagon we loaded the stroller first, then Wyatt, and then I handed Jonah to one of the Moms in the hay wagon and climbed up myself with Sammy and off we went. It was then that I talked to the woman holding Jonah. I introduced myself to her and welcomed her to the Moms Club since she was new and I hadn’t met her yet…it was then that she told me that she wasn’t part of the Moms Club, but just happened to be on the same hayride as us. Imagine my embarrassment…I just handed my baby to some random woman and she never even said anything or asked any questions. It turns out that she had 7 year old twins (girl/boy) and another girl 18 months older than the twins. Her older girl happened to have the same birthday as Wyatt too! Too funny! By the time that we got up to the field it was about 20 minutes until the boys were due to drink their milk, so you can imagine the serenade that the entire field heard from Jonah and Samuel. It must have been bad because I got offers from at least 5 strangers to hold or feed the twins. I simply replied “If it’s not
Helping Hand
The hardest part about having kids so close together is all of the "help" that I get from Wyatt. In the past he has "helped" with the twins a little, but lately it is ALL of the time. Today I caught him feeding Jonah out of his sippy cup at least 3 times. He actually even tried to pinch his lips around the spout to make a good seal too! He tries swaddling the boys about every 5 minutes with random blankets that he pulls off the counter (using a stool) or (my favorite) out of the dirty clothes basket. I freaked out today when I caught Wyatt combing Jonah's hair (aka bald head) with a comb that he found in the diaper bag from the pool yesterday. The poor little guy had scratches all over his scalp, but didn't make a peep because he loved all of the attention from his big brother.

The Country Club
It was SUPER hot today so we decided to set up the baby pool for the boys. Unfortunately, there was not a single spot in the yard that was not in the direct sunlight, so we opted for the garage. It turned out to be the perfect spot... no sunscreen required, not too hot, and a floor drain to clean up the mess when we were done! We may do this every day!

Strollers
I believe that you can never have enough strollers! Last count John and I have 7 strollers, yet I have my eye on one that I think will be perfect for the boys next summer! I talked with a friend tonight that wants to buy one of our strollers from us that we don't use any more. I know that it is the right thing to do, but I will really miss it! Somehow I feel like I can tackle just about anything if I have the right stroller for the right situation. Is it just me or do all Moms suffer from this delusional thinking?
