Birthday Snack
Wyatt's birthday is coming up. It's October 4th. This Sunday for anyone who may not remember the exact date. He will be expecting your birthday phone calls! He is VERY excited!
Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit this weekend for Wyatt's birthday. Wyatt told me that he wants to take them to the library for his birthday?!? I said we will think about that and see if that will work out or not. I think that he wants to show Grandma and Grandpa the self serve library check out station. I taught him how to check out his own books now and he LOVES it. He could get a full time job checking out library books for people. It's that fun!
Today when we went to the library Wyatt raced out of the van and ran across the parking lot without holding my hand. I collected everybody and lectured them about getting hit by a car. We finally crossed the lot together and as soon as we hit the sidewalk the kids raced in front of a lady to open the doors to the library. I asked them to wait for her so that she could go in first. Then she turned to me and said "Great job Mom. They are really excited to go to the library. You must be doing something right!". How nice was that?
A few weeks ago we ordered a cake from Costco. Wyatt came and picked out the cake that he wanted so he is really looking forward to eating HIS cake. I am going to surprise him and put some Dora figurines on the top of the cake before he sees it. I can't wait to see his face. Tonight he told me that he has been practicing blowing really hard so that he can blow out ALL of the candles on his cake!
Today we brought Wyatt's birthday snack to school. We brought a gallon of cider, rice krispy treats with sprinkles, and pumpkin shaped sugar cookies. After school I planned to take the kids to the park to meet John and eat lunch so that we could polish off the leftover birthday snacks and cider. Imagine my surprise when I picked Wyatt up from preschool and there were absolutely NO leftovers. That was a fun surprise for the boys as well! I told them about the cookies and cider all morning. Then I brought empty sippy cups to the park so that I could fill them up with the cider that was gone! Empty sippy cups are worse that no sippy cups fyi. Thankfully the kids were distracted enough at the park that they forgot about the missing snacks and drink and we all had a nice afternoon together.
