Good Bye Dear Friend
We are getting ready to say goodbye to a dear family friend...our beloved double side-by-side stroller. It has been with us for 3 years and we have been through a lot with that stroller. It is going to be a bittersweet goodbye for our family.
I remember putting Jonah and Sam in that stroller when they were dinky little guys and Grandpa Bill kept saying that he couldn't tell them apart! I was like "what? They look so different"! But now I look at pictures like these and I am like Sam is on the right isn't he?
And remember how Sam always liked to prop his feet up on the front bar like he was sitting in a lazy boy recliner? All he needs is a beer and some pork rinds!
We got a lot of attention in that stroller! People used to stop me all of the time and ask if they were twins. I would always say yes and then the follow up question was always are they identical? Um hello? Bald and blue eyes vs. hair and brown eyes?!?!?
The rest of the people would ask if they were mine. No, I just dress other people's kids exactly like mine and drive them around in a stroller all day for giggles!
I like how I would take them out in public and not even put shoes on them?!?! I guess that is a nice twin time saver looking back now....
Then there was the fun phase where I would put food in the little cup holder compartments in the stroller and the boys would fight and scream because they would steal each other's food. Then Sammy learned to bite and whenever Jonah would stray onto his side of the stroller he would open up his mouth and chomp down on poor little Jonah. Then Jonah learned to scream like a murder victim....good times!
Pre-walking days were so nice and relaxing.....
So we are moving on. We are learning how to stick together in a store. We are learning that freedom comes with a price. We are learning that candy and bribery are our friends in our post double stroller life.
Things change and we adapt. It will be a while before we forget you, our beloved double side by side stroller, but you will be in our memories forever!
